BACKGROUND FOR THE TEACHER
There are many sources that cause air pollution. Burning fossil fuels for electricity generation and transportation purposes are two of the major contributing factors to air pollution caused by human activity.
Air quality in the Evansville area has been improved over the last three decades due to a variety of clean air programs put in place nationally, regionally, and locally.
AirCompare, a federal program, provides records of the number of unhealthy days in all counties in the United States over the last ten years.
