BACKGROUND FOR THE TEACHER

Rising global temperature has been accompanied by climate change—significant and long-lasting change in weather.  Many places have already experienced climate change such as increased frequency of intense rains, floods, droughts, snow, and extreme heat and heat waves.

The purpose of this activity is to improve data analysis skills while learning about the average precipitation in Evansville. This activity was created based on data obtained from Weather Channel.

PROBLEM & Answer key

Math Skill: Interpreting bar graphs

Using a bar graph that shows the average monthly precipitation in Evansville.  Students are asked to interpret the bar graph.
